Beside his studies in linguistics, Jean-Baptiste practiced dance at the University and discovered production management at the Centre chorégraphique national de Tours / artistic director Daniel Larrieu. Thereafter he worked as production manager for several dance companies and continued his dancing.

In 2005 he became one of the first students of the new ‘Essais’ programme at the CNDC in Angers (FR) / artistic director Emmanuelle Huynh, where he was invited to develop his own ideas on movement and staging. He created, amongst other projects, a solo piece which was the starting point of his personal research, and then produced chambre son, a choreographic and vocal piece for an a capella choir. He was also invited there to give some workshops on singing to the students of the two-year training programme for professional dancers. After more than a twenty year training in singing, he has been indeed, since 2000, a member of the vocal ensemble Les Djinns where he is both a singer and choir leader, and part in 2003 of the vocal ensemble conducted by Pierre Calmelet which won the silver medal at the national competition of the Florilège Vocal de Tours International Choral Competition (FR).

After finishing his formation in Angers in 2006, he created the association la dépose to produce his own work. He created several projects : acclimatation (2006), solo adaptation of the group piece My Country Music by Deborah Hay ; inspiratoire/aspiratoire (2007), choreographic and vocal performance with vacuum cleaners ; breathing choir (initiated in 2008), a piece for a choir of dancers-breathers ; Singing with Nicaoax (2009), transmission and creation project for a choir of children, made in Oaxaca – Mexico in the framework of the international forum "Prisma". Moreover he was part of collective works, such as Tout Court (2008), organized by Tommy Noonan at Stadttheater in Freiburg – Germany, and Five people (2009) at Campo in Ghent - Belgium under invitation from Dirk Pauwels, with María Jerez Quintana, Min Kyoung Lee, Phil Hayes et Hanneke De Jong.

He has also been an interpreter and selectively participated in works such as Daddy, I've seen this piece… by Robyn Orlin (DE), Digging up by Superamas (AT). He has worked with artists such as Deborah Hay (USA), Laure Bonicel (FR), Roser Montlló Guberna and Brigitte Seth (FR/ES), Daniel Larrieu (FR), António Pedro Lopes (PT), Tim Darbyshire (AU), Gui Garrido (PT)... And he assisted Daniel Larrieu on a performed conference about dance, La danse, j'aimerais bien mais…

As an interpreter and choreographer he collaborated with film makers like Alain Escalle and Jonathan Desoindre (FR).

In 2010 he was awarded the DanceWEB scholarship to participate in the festival ImPulsTanz in Vienna (AT).


In the framework of sweet & tender he took part in 2007 in Antonio Pedro Lopes' workshop Holding onto nothing with everything i've got, Tim Darbyshire's project An Orchestra of Insects, interpreted Where is the inside of our body ?, a solo by Hajime Fujita, made a video Peacocks with Valentina Desideri and Mia Habib, gave some singing classes and participated in several collective projects.
For Sweet & Tender collaborations / SKITe Porto 2008, he worked in a musical project We are deeply superficial people by Guilherme Garrido, he appears in a film by Lucie Eidenbenz and Jassem Hindi, and started writing a score for a breathing choir with the sweet participation of Catarina Miranda, Laura Lamas, Lucie Eidenbenz, Mariella Greil, Rita Natàlio and Pieter Ampe.
Between October and December 2008 he was invited by Tommy Noonan to participate in a residency at pvc / tanztheater freiburg with Murielle Elizéon, Begüm Erciyas, Guilherme Garrido, Monica Gillette, Mia Habib, Antonio Pedro Lopes and Tommy Noonan. Together they created a piece, Tout court.
In April 2009 he co-curated and co-organized the event "SKITe / Sweet & Tender Porto 2008" at Théâtre de la Cité Internationale in Paris. He performed Tout court in this frame.
